I want to intrude myself since that the possibility to read player killer could be crucial for some scripts.
Gurt doesn't like to see boards where are listed players and their kills, that's fine, but imagine this, in a campaign/story mode situation you found some guys (CPU) that will help you go ahead in the story killing your enemies, but they will ask questions if, for some reasons you shoot them, a couple of times could be by mistake but if you keep shooting they will start shooting at you too.
If Gurt really don't want to add something like that I would suggest at least a way to read the last player who damaged the player, sorry for word pun.

So like I know no ones like uses it but, if you just hold TAB and put your mouse to a players name, maybe it should say how many kills overall they got, this will be a interesting feature cause I've seen plenty of trash talkers and I think this can be a bit important
Yes Ik there's already a count but it's only for how many you killed in the match not overall in the entire SFD thing

That’s a terrible reason for a feature to be implimented. On top of that, I doubt a kill count would be sufficient, as there are many kills That the player could cause that may not be able to be counted by whatever script figures this out.I've seen plenty of trash talkers and I think this can be a bit important

kill trackers are only unfun if they aren't done right, a kill tracker that tracks indirect kills would help incentivising killing players in indirect ways, this'd also tell players who killed them, like who planted the mine and so on.Gurt wrote: ↑Thu Sep 01, 2016 11:27 pmSFD isn't about getting a kill score or kill/death ratio. Providing this information will make players focusing on getting final kills with direct hits rather than indirect kills like shooting a nearby barrel to make it explode in someone's face, set something on fire or generally using your environment. We have said this before at some point.
This'd also be a great help in big maps where not all players are on the screen at the same time, allowing you to know how many players have died and who killed them.
I'm however not a big fan of "kill icons" since they are a bit tasteless and are more suited for something like COD (Call Of Duty) and other FPS games, I think quirky death messages akin to the loading tips would match SFD's style better. For example...
Jeff found Funnyman's mine (if player dies indirectly from another player's mine)
Scott helped Agent to a free fall (if a player dies from fall damage due to another player's actions like getting kicked off a roof)
Boris fed Mac a knuckle-sandwich (if a player dies from a grab-punchREEEEEEE)
Billy died for some reason (will be shown if cause of death is unknown)
And so on...

That's a great idea, this would fit SFD's style and personality perfectly.StarNord wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2019 5:50 pm[...] I'm however not a big fan of "kill icons" since they are a bit tasteless and are more suited for something like COD (Call Of Duty) and other FPS games, I think quirky death messages akin to the loading tips would match SFD's style better. We already have a script that does this, as far as I remember we were told there was no way to read the owner of a projectile or a hit but here we are regardless. It does wonders and I like turning it on from time to time. I don't really see why this shouldn't be implemented, at least as a toggleable option. You don't even need to have a "who killed who" feed necessarily, just entertaining flavor text like "Billy suddenly became very toasty" or "Billy's body went... everywhere".
