Weapon Suggestion: Atchisson Assault Shotgun (AA-12)
Perhaps as a rare weapon pick-up in the same vein as the bazooka and the M60, we could have an AA-12. In other words, a full-auto shotgun.
Obviously for balancing reasons, it would make sense to give it about 6, 8 or 10 rounds with no reserve upon initial pick-up.
Similarly, the fire rate should be lower than, say, the assault rifle (it's legitimately actually rather low for a full auto weapon in real life too.)
In comparison to the pump shotgun though, it should have a tighter spread thus increasing it's effective range and accuracy.
So in short: A faster and more effective but very scarce and ammo starved shotgun. Or, even shorter, the bazooka of shotguns.
The visual design is simplistic on it's own so it would be rather easy to translate into the tiny graphics and art style of the game as well.
What are your thoughts on this idea?

Well, if it's shots are functionally the same as other shotguns, it would be 6 pellets at 3.7 damage each pellet, or 22.2 damage per blast like the other shotguns. Unless OP wants these blasts to function differently?

You can't very well have it do more damage because that would make it second only to the bazooka in terms of how ridiculously easy and fast it kills others.

I mean you have beenn inspired of this weapon idea by the Retro-shotgun in Gears of War 4 (a blue one) right ?
You should consider that this shotgun could have low stability once we start to shoot with it, and also, a great idea is to make the player to go slowly (in this case, walking) while he's charging the heavy weapon.
About luantic said, I think we could change the damage value of each bullet on this shotgun to make it like "desctruction everywhere". Yes, it would be a bit near from the sniper damage, but consider how many ammo should it has.
Also, the reload would be VERY VERY slow, cuz it's a heavy monster weapon :0

It is a shotgun that stores 8 shotgun shells with a cartridge or up to 20 with a barrel, but having 20 shotgun shells would be broken for game, so it is better that you just have 8 shotgun shells cartridge.
AA-12 Shotgun quickly fire while holding the trigger (to escape you must roll).
Example:

There is no skill in this weapon but it will be fun to kill zombies or terrorists on an adventure map
or for help new players to win the game in a fun way.
