So I was thinking when I picked up a trash can lid, "I want to use this like a shield" and that inspired me to make this idea.

Basically anything that can be carried to block things like metal barrels, crates, trash can lids, etc. just large things that are your size or smaller. You pick them up, or in the trash can lid's case, hold D.

I'm thinking items like the lid if you hold D you will get a chance of blocking a bullet every time it gets it. Of course it will have durability. Maybe there could be a shield item that you can have as a melee that specifically does that.

Other things like carrying crates/barrels you should do by pressing down+grab like a dead body. It will block ALL bullets but each time it gets hit you will have a chance of dropping it and falling over from the impacts.

I think this is a good idea, but it might be too over powered to be able to move your cover (barrels, crates, etc.) so maybe just leave it at objects that you can already pick up and give them a low durability to bullets.

That's why the person carrying it can fall over if bullets hit the thing they're carrying. Or some other downside.
