Planned feature: Shock baton
An electric shock baton with limited charges that electrocutes players on hit.
- Like the ordinary baton but also electrocutes players when hit.
- Hit players will be stunned for longer and take slightly more damage.
- The shock baton will have a cooldown between charges. Each hit with a charged baton will drain a chunk of its durability - making it only last for so long.
- The shock baton only have enough energy for 3 hits before going back to an ordinary baton again. (The shock baton with two charges will allow you to perform a full 3-hit-combo without the opponent being able to block you.)

Maybe if you block with it, it will electrocute the attacker?

Being hit while blocking should probably not waste any charge.
Hitting someone blocking should perhaps stun the opponent (but limit the damage taken?).

I hope you understand that this weapon is truly OP.
The current balance in SFD is that attacks are slow, and more often than not, melee doesn't go further than the first hit of a "combo". Having free guaranteed combos like this is already crazy, would make the shock baton better than the katana. Furthermore, if the baton deals like, 9 damage a hit? 9*3 = 27 + Damage over time, free guaranteed damage. Good that it gets wasted charges though.
But if I hit one time and then do my 123, I can do over 36 damage. This weapon looks to be way over the top.
And don't get me started on damaging people by blocking.

The shock baton seems like a fine idea, I'm excited to see how a truly powerful melee weapon would do for someone like me. How would it work on airborne opponents?

Goes without saying that this should be a rare weapon.
However, hitting someone blocking should perhaps only stun the opponent if they are unarmed.
If they block with a melee weapon then maybe you will block as usual while the shock baton wastes a charge. Maybe that will allow you to at least have a chance?

This is a great idea for a new weapon and I have
An idea similar to this...
You guys know how laser sights give ur "guns" laser sight, what if there was something that can give ur "MELLE weapon " something like an electric shock like the weapon (shock botton) also add this accessory to any MELLE weapon. After 3 hits the accessory will break and it will turn to a regular weapon(like how gurt said the shock botton will, also stuns opponent )

Another possibility is that blocking always works against the stun, whether you are unarmed or not. In other words, only a damaging hit releases an electric charge. Makes sense since you can also block sharp weapons with your fists, so in the same way you are avoiding the edge of a katana, you are also avoiding the electrified tip of the baton.
Raptor's idea is interesting, but I'm not sure I like the idea of people running around with long-stun katanas in the game

The baton is a relatively weak weapon so it makes sense for it to have a rare upgraded version.

Another possibility is to make it so that metal weapons are unable to block the shock baton, while weapons like the bat are able to block it without being stunned or damaged.

It also doesn't really make sense when it comes to weapons like the pipe wrench and the regular police baton. How are you holding a weapon made of metal without getting electrocuted yourself?

Probably because the baton is made of wood. Small detail, hard to notice, but if you try to block bullets with it, it absorbs them instead of deflecting them.

What about this combo:
A Q A 1 A Q A 1 A A A whoaa
I don't know if there would be time to re-equip it before the stun ends though

I doubt it, but it would definitely make the weapon even more devastating.

I have an idea, when a player with no weapon blocks the shock baton they get stunned in the block animation. If the attacker is still attacking the player blocking will be taking only the stun damage, which I assume isn't much. When a baton hits a metal weapon, the electricity is reflected off to the attacker, so that people are forced to play smarter. Also shock gloves lol
Added in 2 hours 38 minutes 10 seconds:
And also as already stated wood based weapons make the electricity in the electric baton null.

Metallic weapons get shocked out of your hands if you aren't blocking?
Same with guns? Or maybe when bullets are reflected off the baton, they BECOME ELECTRIFIED!!!(Though baton absorbs, shock baton could reflect)

Is it different from the ordinary baton? If yes, what will be the difference between them (in appearance of course) Its effect is equal/similar to the tazer planned feature (like a new element)? Will it hit other closer players or just the player in the front (I'd like to suggest this by the way)?

Planned feature: Shock baton
An electric shock baton with limited charges that electrocutes players on hit.
I can finally breathe a sigh of triumph knowing i've had an influence on the game(even if it's a small one) and please no one tell me that it was already a planned feature and i've just heard about it now, lemme bask in the glory of having an influence.
But maybe instead of having limited charges it should be able to carry one charge that recharges in a few minutes, enough for a normal 1v1 battle to end.
Why one charge? because then the player who gets stunned is stunned long enough so that you can grab and throw him away from you and then quickly switch to a primary, it'll be a good weapon for those who don't want to get into a melee fight with others because they're shit... LIKE ME!

If it recharges then I can pocket it and use it to get a free and easy stun on an enemy at my discretion. Therefore I can stun someone, pull out a primary, and shoot them for big damage. Or I can use mines/c4/molotovs. Or I can grab...
This is easily a melee power weapon. Expect rare spawns.
