Players changing steam ID

Hi, today a cracked player joined one of my servers and gave himself moderator status by faking his steamID as mine. I am unsure if this an issue with the game or if cracked players have total control over their faked steamIDs.

We're working on some basic password system for moderators to combat this problem for the next update. You will get assigned a password from the server admin which you then can use. Just make sure to enter your moderator password on a server you trust where you know you're a moderator. Just like entering any login information on any other site.

Just want to add, it just happened to me as well on Blurry's server. Some guy claiming to be mod with 300 ping, wtf. At least i didn't get banned.
