Well, It had to happen. SFD got hacked like every other game that releases on Steam. And one would think: "So what? They don't have what we have. Let these losers play with bots, nothing else."
My friend tested it out and we figured out a problem. They CAN play in multiplayer with other people on the "Browse Games" page servers. I have the license and my friend have the hacked version. I created a public server and he could connect. After a few rounds he got crashed.
Here what it looks like: As I understand it, the game servers unrelated to the Steam servers? Cuz he doesn't need Steam to play online. Is there a way to fix it? I think it's not profitable at all.



P.S. So you can tell exactly who is using the hacked version of the game by looking at his account and seeing the "???????" thing.

That could mean that the player has some sort of special charecter in their name, like a Chinese or Russian letter or something. If what your saying is true, I’m not sure as to why that is possible.

Some letters can't be displayed properly in the account name due to the in-game font. The "?" is just a replacement character for chars that can't be shown.

Yea I've seen that in Blurry's a lot. I was really wondering what it was.

It's quite a shame, really...is there any planned solution for this? Something along the lines of requiring steam authorization on server connection AND creation?

I mean, Vassile - One of the individuals who has been distributing cracks has been banned from the SFD discords, so he can't really distribute these cracks to a mass group of people. But people are bound to stumble upon it online. Hopefully this issue is rectified.

If you crack the game, then I personally dispise you. If you seriously can afford to spend 13$ on a game you enjoy then either don’t get it or save up the money. Don’t resort to theft.

Okay, but problem is still here . But this screenshot still shows how a non-steam player looks in the game . Other way we we can verify this through the steam overlay, can't we?

I think the only way to make pirates not be able to play the game or only play with other pirated clients will be to make it dedicated servers, right? Idk

If u are going to report the video do it privately. You basically just gave this whole forum access to a video that shows them how to crack the game. Delete your post by pressing the X button next to it
