Merged a new take on an idea with an already existing thread.
I just thought of this a new player to sfd would get the noob rank, and in the campaign if you beat it your a beginner etc, it depends on how many real kills you get, like 1000 for pro, etc.
This might be a good idea since it can help keep of whos good, and pros can be invited to clans there can be maps which only pros can play or anybody can

Anyone can get a 1000 kills with the current rng, i don't think that would be the best criteria to determine your "rank". This is why i've proposed a sort of ELO system be added to the game.

I had been discussing this with you on a server if I recall, and I agree with you to an extent. What I was saying in the server we were in jlo is that there can be a ranking system, and there would be servers dedicated to people in that ranking system. For example. Someone who is rank 1 will only be able to join the rank 1 server, and you would have to get rank 2 in order to join the rank 2 server, that way there is less of a skill difference for new players. Of course this would be an alternative to the other servers the players would host. It can be a host option to maybe have a rank limit to prevent low lever people from joining ETC. Anyways, I don’t really understand why you are mentioning anything to do with clans. I feel like a ranking system like this would show more “dedication” than skill. Also, frankly the devs shouldn’t have to worry about the clans and how they should accommodate them. If Mythologic Interactive chooses to incorporate a clan system literally coded in the game than maybe, but the whole clan thing is completely community based.

Off Topic
Big thread merge coming through. A leveling/ranking system has been suggested multiple times in the past and the idea has also resurfaced recently so I went ahead and looked through the thread history to see what similar threads I could find. I combined everything so suggestions and revisions are all put together in one single place.

Review the additions as you see fit.
3 threads added to the original (see Mod notes).

Fun fact: this post uses the word "thread" way too many times.

Honestly I think the levels should only unlock cloths and maybe some weapon skins kind of, like gold versions of all the weapons could be obtainable, or there could just be quests you need to accomplish to get the skins. idk I think locking the weapons would make the game NOT HOW IT SHOULD BE.

Honestly, the more and more I think about it, the more I think a leveling system would take the fun out of the game. I feel like a leveling system wouldn’t fit in here. At first I was thinking that it could be a good idea for seperating New Players, but I feel like there are better ways of doing that.

Ranking or leveling system simply doesn't fit in sfd, these systems are designed for games that have officially hosted servers.

think about it, I can just have a friend host for me and have him die to me until i rank or level up, these systems can be easily abused in sfd.

In this game, the tutorial talks about very basic things. Bots do not play likepeople, it’s impossible to learn something really necessary for them. Players with a high ability to play constantly beat beginners and I think that beginners leave precisely for this reason.Skill playersare everywhere, I would like to be divided intolevelsof the player, rating pointsor something similar.

I said a few bad things, but the game is beautiful.
