Title already said everything. It woul be useful if you ran out of ammo, and just use your weapon as melee(of course it would be breakable).

You can throw it already. Use actual weapon or your goddamn fists if you are too weak to throw your shotgun in someone's face. Or, you know, try to not waste your ammo so you don't need to beat people with your gun like goddamn caveman.

I don't think cavemen had access to guns, but they'd still probably bash you over the head with the nearest heavy object like most fighters do already.

Using a gun as some sort of impromptu melee weapon that breaks in 2-3 hits like the current temporary melee weapons would be interesting, IMO. Maybe have fighters wield the rifles/shotgun like a bat when out of ammo while leaving the secondaries to being thrown only.

There's a reason we already have a classification of weapon titled "melee". If players could just use their gun as a melee weapon, it would completely imbalance the melee vs guns issue (more than it already is, anyways). Imagine finally chasing down that guy who's been shooting at you, going to punch him, and then he just blocks with his gun and starts hitting you with it.

Breaking or not, that's bullshit. Throws are enough.

That situation doesn't sound that much different from them just switching to their melee weapon/holstering and doing the same exact thing.

Except it's unfair because you have a range and damage advantage. So no, it's not the same exact thing. Meanwhile, if you want to equip a melee weapon to get that same advantage, you would get disarmed.

I already posted this topic... Anyways how about a binding for a quick bash just to knock back enemies a little bit? I mean melee vs gun is hard...(except with shotgun, shawed off shotgun)

My thought so far, compromised from the discussion above and some of my ideas too:

- Only Primary weapons can be used as melee weapons (Rifles, not handguns)
- These guns would be taken into melee by similiar operation as entering throwing mode: according to my experiences it would leave enoguh time to disarm the player who tries this
- Heavier guns would be slower in melee: M60 would hit once while melee weapon would hit twice
- As guns are not meant to be abused, they would have 3-4 hits durability and after that they'll break

Great. but hand guns is good as melee weps, and when u enter the melee mode you can see the durability instead of the ammo, this is also useful for throwing as u can infinitely throw weps without breaking, well now u can't abuse it.
