Item idea: ammunition pack

Encountering situations where I have many times thought how useful it could be, the ammunition pack item would be very helpful, if the “/ia 1” command is set to 'off' and stays that way.

I am still unsure whether an ammunition pack should fill the entire ammo capacity of a gun or only 50% of it. Considering there’s the M60 weapon that if refilled, would be an overpowered weapon, and it also already causes enough destruction, it shouldn't be refilled 100%. Yet again, there is the same possibility of having another M60 spawned in a weapon’s supply crate. Maybe there could be an exception, filling up a gun based on its destruction reputation.

It would be better if, instead of spawning a weapon from the supply crates identical with the one you are already equipped with, an ammunition pack will spawn instead of the same weapon, when the coincidence of spawning another weapon occurs. Because presently if you pick up an identical gun it registers as "<weapon> ammo", so having actual ammo instead of the same gun, would fit visually.

Anyway, the ammo item should fill any weapon except bazooka, grenade launcher and flare gun. In my opinion, having separate ammo items to refill either bazooka, rocket launcher or flare gun will be better. The following are visual suggestions for how any of these could look. But I would strongly suggest that Grenade Launcher, Bazooka and Flare Gun, should be refilled by individual ammo item types, to avoid unfair situations.

These visual suggestions can apply for the planned feature of ammo types as well (high explosive and so on), which in my opinion are not that necessary.

I think splitting it up into ammo types just reduces the likelihood of finding ammo for your gun. And even then, it would only fill "half" a clip?
You can't currently have HALF clips in SFD because clips are an integer value (no decimals allowed)

Seems kinda pointless. If this were to be implemented, just a general little cardboard box with a bullet on it will give me a simple idea that I can get ammo here. Perhaps finding a small ammo box refills ONE clip and finding a large ammo box fills TWO.

Wow, having a box with a bullet on it is actually a whole lot better idea...
Again, i just want an item to potentially refill my sniper or my magnum in the battlefield.

Ok ok, I have a better idea, When you take ammo for a different weapon... Like Bazooka, Next time you get bazooka you will get additional clip and if you take 2 ammo's you will get 2 additional clips, 3= 3clips, 4= 4clips, Untill the clips reaches the limit.. Happy?

This kinda kills sharing guns with team mates
for example, if i get a gun identical to the one i own, I would share the other one with my team and pick the current one. but if it spawns an ammo clip, i don't think this is possible.

Also, how could the game identify that the gun that is going to drop out of a gun crate is going to identical to the one the player near it owns?
If it identifies it by checking the gun owned by the player who destroys the crate, it would be bad.

Like, if i have a m60, and i see someone approaching to a gun crate which is far away from me, i shoot down the gun supply crate, but instead of dropping another m60 ( just in case ) it drops an ammo pack. so this instead of giving the player near the supply crate a m60, it gives him ammo.

Maybe these ammo packs can be included in the supply crates which contains HP, grenades mines and all and the ammo pack should be universal, should give ammo to every weapon, but still that over powers weapons like bazooka, or GL.

Merged a new take on an idea with an existing thread.
I downloaded a texture pack that reskinned the laser sight item to look kinda like an ammo box and that got me thinking, there should be a way to get ammo for your weapons without having to get lucky all the time, since getting the same weapon twice in a hectic game is quite a rare occurrence (from what i've experienced) and isn't usually expected to happen in a normal game, there needs to be an easier and much more obvious way to get more ammo, so i present you with (in the form of an idea), the ammo box.

I'm sure the concept is self-explanatory if you pick one up it'll be like picking up the same weapon again (refills your current mag and gives you one more) and it'll drop from the eagle supply crate, also if you don't have a weapon yet then fret not! it'll wait till you get one and fill IT'S ammo. (exactly like how the laser sight is applied to the first firearm you pick up if you don't already have one)

And now it's time for the customary alternative suggestions to sell the idea. (*cough* and to create controversy*cough*, ahem...and to create a friendly discussion...)

The ammo box could repair/give more durabillity to melee weapons. (maybe just macgyver it and wrap some duct tape around the thing since it can fix anything i guess...)

If refilling every gun's ammo and repairing/increasing durabillity of all melee weapons sounds a bit OP coming from one item then the ammo box could come in different varieties like for example:

A large-calibre ammo box(for high-power firearms like the sniper rifle, magnum, etc).

A small-calibre ammo box(for low-power firearms like the tommygun, pistol, etc).

A special ammo box(for non-bullet firearms like the bazooka, flamethrower, etc).

And maybe the aforementioned suggestion for repairing melee weapons could come in it's own distinct box or just as a roll of duck tape.

But those are too many ammo boxes for the eagle supply crate because it'll divide up the drop rates of other items, or in layman terms, make grenades rarer(then my Bouncy Grenades Suggestion would've been all for naught) they could all drop from their own supply crate, The Ammo Supply Crate

This same ammo supply crate can be used for the special ammo planned feature since the devs seem to have a lot more special ammo types in mind (including my favorite, bouncy bullets and grenades plz) they could all drop from the ammo supply crate rather than cramming the already brimming eagle supply crate.

What will be its spawn rate and what type of crate will it be found in?
