Bot feature list

Here's a list over bot features currently missing and that we want to implement. We will be implementing these features as time goes on and the plan is to implement the majority of them. It will take time and majority will not be done until spring 2019 or something.


Features
  • [IMPLEMENTED]Allow bots to use weapons in hip-fire.
  • Allow bots to analyze dangerous zones and objects like explosive barrels, fire, grenades, mines and crushing elevators with the option to design your own dangerous zones in the editor. This can allow bots to avoid running into burning explosive barrels, avoid mines, run from grenades and maybe even shooting nearby barrels.
  • Allow bots to use direct damaging throwables such as grenades and molotovs.
  • Allow bots to be able to take cover and shoot through cover.
  • Allow bots to steer rockets to any nearby target.
  • Add some more depth to the melee to bots so they might be able to analyze your pattern and predict your next melee move and counter it.
  • Allow bots to block and deflect incoming bullets and throws.
  • Allow bots to throw items at opponents and block incoming ones.
  • Allow bots to "flee" to get some distance between itself and the opponent if it's suitable. (Stretch goal, bots should generally not flee).
Exploit fixes
  • Bots can be pretty clumsy near or around a player ledge grabbing, resulting in easy kills in certain maps when they jump down to their death.
  • Bots can't react to all player actions outside their melee-hitbox properly, resulting in them not acting at all in certain situations.
  • Bots trying to avoid projectiles by rolling sometimes make them roll down a pit.
  • Bots diving from the same place and time should wait for their teammates, like they do in ladders.
Please note that bots in certain maps will be lacking some features because they should be overall easy to deal with. Like the zombies in the Zombie Nightmare survival map.

Tweaks and improvements will be ongoing as we see fit and based on how we prioritize features.

Our focus during the Beta will probably be a variety of smaller things and after that we will start working on a new campaign and implement more features for the bots.

Can bots activate buttons like normal players?
For example, If you were in a map like battle of teams, then you would want to choose your team.
Would the bot be able to choose their team and class and then play with the weapons for that class, or would they have some issues?

Yeah but u would probably need to have some sort of special node. How else would bots turn on Elevators?

There is. Each map need path nodes in order to support bots. That’s why some maps, the bots don’t move

Otherwise I think it's a good feature, Expert-level bots could shoot from the hip while giving chase to other players, or whenever a person is in melee range to take a couple of pot shots at them, just as an example of a potential use to the move.

I hope that these features are only to Expert Bots :\ , the expert bots are very better that many players, perfect aim, nice melee. The others features are to all bots, are you agree?

Edited the post to clarify. It is implemented but in a way bots use it. It might be improved in the future but for now they can run-and-gun but it's situational.

maybe bots should be able to press buttons and stuff or maybe like the developer can code the bots so they can do whats right and whats wrong maybe and maybe bots can jump over big gaps and stuff idk if implented
