As seen in the video, when walking off a slanted surface, the fighter will float off the ground. They fall back down to the ground after stopping.

Your position on the screen isn't 100% accurate!
I think this is why players are able to roll before hitting the ground to prevent fall damage (another bug). It would seem that collision for tiles is a little higher than the tile itself. However, we sink to the tile when we stop on it.

While a bit odd this is really hard to make perfect and is by design today. Can be caused by the camera zoom and tons of other factors as we have the different layers > Box2D -> SFD Player movement code -> Player positioning on the screen -> Drawing code based on camera zoom. None of these care about the faked pixel world used in the game.
