Planned feature: Jetpack

Fly with style and reach those far away places with ease and speed as long as you have fuel.

- A powerup that's equipped automatically.
- Uses fuel like the flamethrower.
- The jetpack is activated automatically by holding the jump button or pressing up while in air.
- You fly up by holding the jump or pressing up while in air.
- Holding the sprint button while in the air will lock you to the vertical height.
- Holding the walk button while in the air will lower you slowly.
- Anything underneath you while using the jetpack will be ignited.
- The jetpack can be damage by projectiles while in use when you get hit in the back (fuel tanks on your back).
- A damaged jetpack can make you fly around uncontrolled or explode on your back or the fuel tanks can detach and fly around themselves randomly and explode on impact.

I'm glad you're going the "double-jump" route rather than the space_battle_r route where a different button is used to activate the jetpack; it's quite distracting, to be frank. I hope it'll be as easy to use as any other item, and as fun to get killed by as any other explosive.

I have a idea.
Shooting the player and killing him will fly around with his jetpack if he has fuel, of course. Hitting the floor/wall while he's dead with his jetpack on will make him explode!

I'm pretty sure this game is jetpack enough.

Anyway,what if instead of a double jump kind of movement,it was just acticated with the W key?
For the basic controls of this game,it would only stop you from using the kick button,wich is not necessary during a jetpack jump(I guess).
This would prevent the player from accidentally activating the jetpack while doing a series of jumps in a row.

this feature can be used badly by many ways
I am pretty sure that there are many existing maps that did'nt see this comming, and wich reaching high place will cause unwanted bugs and consequences. Also it is a great leap for douche-bags hosts to empower them selves or anyone else with these jetpacks...
But hey ! Imagine how crazy would a round with Jetpacks as start-up items !

By simply adding invisible tiles to the roof of a map, you can prevent someone from flying out. Jetpacks also have fuel so it's not like they can stay airborne forever.

The game doesn't take into account for bad hosts. If you don't like the host's actions, leave. Nothing's stopping you.

Many players will be able to camp with the jetpack. It must the jetpack to go to a certain height, example jetpack can not go beyond 100 meters

I don't think this is a factor that should be taken in mind when you think whether this feature should be implemented or not. Firstly, I can only think of one default map that has a glitchy camping spot players could somewhat abuse; other than that, I don't think there's a single camping spot that can't be accessed by foot or by other exploitative means of mobilization in any of the default maps on the list. Will you get to a camping spot faster? Probably. Will it change much gameplay-wise? Probably not.

Secondly, say you found this amazing spot; it's some kind of tiny floating tile forgotten by the map creator, and now it's there for you to take advantage of. In order to properly take advantage of it you need the proper weapon setup, and enough HP to survive. But let's admit it: you don't start a game with the goal of "I'm gonna set camp in this glitch spot to win" in mind, and set the game up so the endgame is you standing in it with full HP and an M60. Even if you do, keep the following in mind:
1) Ammo tends to run out
2) Once most players realize you can't be reached they'll stop trying and won't let you kill them that easily.

So, enjoy camping outside of the map border I guess, I'm gonna continue enjoying actually playing the game without restricting myself to one spot to try and win to piss my friends off.

Fucking savage.

Furthermore, jetpacks make the user quite vulnerable, as it could cause a near instant death if the jetpack is shot. Furthermore, it has fuel, so the user can't fly forever. I think the mechanics at play make this item more than balanced.

It would be nice if there was a way to manually set off the jetpack and launch it at foes, or to force a suicide charge similar to the bazooka with the item.

^ maybe make it bounce around for a while and, when shot, it'll explode. otherwise it just does normal thrown weapon damage

I dont think it's a good idea. The game should be boots on the grond not some Infinire Warfare stuff or even Advanced warfare.
