My chat disappears

My computer is not the best one, it is a Windows 7 and even then the game has never stopped chatting, sometimes it just disappears! My friends can see the messages and respond more I can not because the chat simply disappears, so I do not know if they are reading, the only way I know to stop this bug is to completely close the game and open it again, this is bad because I lose all my score has times that I am 32/10 and I have to close the game to read the chat again. My friend already complained that this happened to him too and he does not know how to solve it, please somebody solve it.

As a temporary fix, I've been holding down Z to see the chat and HUD when I need to. I can't guarantee it will work for you, but it doesn't hurt to try.

It's an option to hide the chat. By default it's F9, try and check it.

Yeah. F9 hides some of the HUD, so in order to re enable chat you might need to press it twice. If you press it once with your chat already gone you might disable your entire HUD.
