Re: Performance limit of spawnable tiles

I tried the map out and it turns out that the box2D engine is doing some heavy internal calculations to rebalance its internal dynamic tree and what-not - which it fails due to some hardcoded constants. Probably to handle a certain maximum amount of tiles. You're really pushing the boundries for num...

Status Update 2018-12-27 (and Happy New Year!)

We forgot to say Merry Christmas before we left for some time off from Superfighters Deluxe during Christmas.

I'm back and will start tinkering with Superfighters Deluxe again soon enough but first catch up on some movies.

I wish you all a Happy New Year!

Re: Make blocks instantaneous again.

There is a cooldown on the block so you can't always block. Everything is processed on the server side (except movement if you have less-than-high ping). This means that your melee actions, blocks, kicks, attacks are all processed on the server and it has been like this since the Pre-Alpha. You won'...

Re: Players bungee jumping on objects moving up

By design. If you jump from any moving platforms you keep that relative velocity. Jump of the train in subway for example and you will see what I mean, or do some barrel jumps.

Re: Performance limit of spawnable tiles

There is a limit on how many tiles you can select at the same time in the editor and after that you won't see any more yellow outlines anymore.

I suspect you have some algorithm that doesn't scale well with increasingly number of tiles in your code. Some nested loops perhaps.

Re: Bots not leaving when slot changed to open

Bots that have spawned remain in the game until the next round begins. When a player joins a game in progress and takes a bot's place the bot shouldn't be removed until the end of the game.

We support up to 4 players locally, due to limitations in the input library we use.

Re: PUBLIC SERVERS, WITHOUT HOST

Another tip is to make sure to enable high power mode in windows and disable any features that can put your graphics card or network card into sleep as that can screw up the server software. Highly recommend to set up to restart the server once every day.

Re: Why is everyone using the 1.0.1 beta version?

Our next version will probably be named v.1.0.3 instead of v.1.0.2 to avoid even more confusion between "Beta v.1.0.2c" and "v.1.0.2" :P So don't worry if you missed a version number.

Re: Christmas is coming...

For anyone wondering why we aren't putting up a discount during Christmas it's because of one of Steam's policies: " It's not possible to submit a discount within 30 days of the following: Releasing a game for the first time at full price " But hey, don't worry. More sales will come. (we released SF...

Re: How to update maps already uploaded to steam?

You must continue to edit the same map you originally uploaded. Do not use "Save As" as that will trigger the editor to save the map as a new map. In case it doesn't work try to run the game as administrator. Technical limitations requires the map file to be copied back and forth between a temporari...

Re: Script not being found by server command

Thanks for reporting. There's a bug in the release version where you need to type in the file's name for the script including the file extension. Fixed after v.1.0.1: Changed how the scripts are found when using the /Startscript and /Stopscript commands. It's now possible to type in a part of the sc...

Re: Why is everyone using the 1.0.1 beta version?

The current latest version (as I'm writing this) is "v.1.0.1" which is the release version. Notice that there is no "Beta" prefix in the version number here.
The "Beta v.1.0.2c" is over 1 year old by now.

Re: Is there a way to delay the start of wave 1 in survival?

You as a map maker is in control of what happens in a survival map, when enemies spawn and when the round is over. See the tutorial section in the map editor for a brief explanation how to set up a survival map.

Re: [CREATE GAME WITHOUT POWER HOST]

Gurt will implement this and will be his main focus: https://www.mythologicinteractiveforums.com/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=3352 We will look into something called NAT Punch-through. You will still need to host a game in order to host a game but it should make it easier for those that can't port forward.

Re: Scripts are lagging on server

From a technical standpoint loading the scripts is a one-time operation during the loading of a map, just after it's done loading and before the round starts while still showing the loading screen. The game will look for all enabled scripts and read them. How and where the scripts are stored doesn't...
